Cash on delivery

Some orders are paid in cash when they arrive. The app tells you before you accept: the offer shows Collect [amount] in cash, and the job repeats it.

  1. You see the amount before accepting. It is part of the decision.
  2. You collect that amount at the door.
  3. You mark the order delivered.
  4. You hand the cash to the restaurant.
  5. A cashier at the restaurant confirms it.

Step 5 is the one that matters, and the one people misread.

You cannot, and the app never offers it.

There is exactly one route by which an order becomes paid in Sitora: a cashier at the restaurant confirms the payment. Cash you hand over goes into that same queue as any other payment. Nothing you do on your phone can bypass it.

This protects you. An order marked paid by the person carrying the money is worth nothing as evidence. An order marked paid by the restaurant’s own cashier, after they took the cash from you, is a record you can point at.

After you deliver, the order shows as delivered but not yet settled, and the cash shows as outstanding against you until a cashier confirms it.

That gap is normal and usually short. It is not an accusation.

Unsettled cash that sits for long enough will pause your offers. The pause tells you why — cash from a delivery has not been confirmed by the restaurant yet — and it lifts by itself once the cash is confirmed.

The usual cause is a cashier who has not got to it, not a courier who took anything. That is exactly why it is a self-lifting pause rather than a mark against you: nothing is recorded on your profile.

There is also a limit on how much unsettled cash you may carry at once. Once you reach it, cash orders stop being offered to you until you settle up. Prepaid jobs keep coming.

Hand cash in the same day. Every problem in this page comes from cash sitting overnight.

Hand it to a cashier, and stay while they record it. Thirty seconds now saves a conversation later.

Carry change. The app shows the exact amount, and a customer with a large note is your problem to solve, not theirs.

Count it at the door. Once you have left, a shortfall is your word against the customer’s.

If a customer refuses to pay, do not hand over the food. Report Customer refused the order.

The customer does not have the right money. Make change if you can. If not, call the restaurant before leaving the door — they know their customer and their options.

I collected cash but the order shows unpaid. Correct, and expected until a cashier confirms it. Chase the restaurant if it lasts more than a day.

My offers are paused for unsettled cash. Take the cash to the restaurant and get a cashier to confirm it. The pause lifts on its own — nobody has to approve anything.

The restaurant took the cash but has not recorded it. Ask them to. Until it is recorded, the platform’s view is that you are still holding it.

I am not getting cash jobs any more. You may be at the outstanding-cash limit. Settle up.
